Lone Star State Ques (LSSQ) Recap

The Brothers of Mu Mu Nu chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. hosted the 30th Annual Meeting of the Lone Star State Ques (LSSQ) from February 10-12, 2023, in Houston, Texas.

The LSSQ is a state of Texas sponsored organization consisting of all Omega chapters (35 Graduate and 26 Undergraduate) that are located within the great state of Texas.

The purpose of this annual meeting was to prepare and educate the Brothers from the Lone Star State on the Policies and Procedures of the Fraternity, provide greater understanding of the programs of the Fraternity, and select representatives to handle the State, District, and International business of the Fraternity.

On Friday, February 10th, Brothers attended a “Fellowship—Retention and Reclamation Reception” at the 366 Sky Lounge, hosted by Mu Mu Nu. On Saturday, February 11th, the official LSSQ meeting was held—24 Graduate and 6 Undergraduate chapters were represented. All involved achieved their overall goals with the meeting agenda and outcome. There were officially 323 Brothers registered, with approximately 300 in attendance, including members of the Supreme Council of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc.—Brother-Grand Mark E. Jackson (1st Vice Grand Basileus), Brother-Grand Sherman Charles (Grand Keeper of Records and Seal), and Brother-Grand Clement Osimetha (Grand Counselor). On Sunday February 12th, the Brothers attended a worship service at Fallbrook Church.

Relative to social impact: LSSQ was able to provide training and enhance the knowledge of the Fraternity business to Brothers from across the state of Texas, the Ninth District, and Internationally, as well as improve the relationships of the chapters within our Fraternity and determine a positive path forward for the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. at all levels.
